چکیده

New networks, called GLO networks, are constructed by adding bus-like links to omega networks, providing additional capacity between cells on momentarily busy paths. Equivalent pin-count GLO and omega networks ooered uniform and nonuniform traac were simulated. GLO networks exhibited lower latency for nonuniform traac and light to moderate uniform traac.

Eeect of Non-uniform Traac on the Performance of Multistage Interconnection Networks

Multistage interconnection networks are used to connect processors to memories in shared memory multiprocessor systems. The performance evaluation of such networks is usually based on the assumption of uniform memory reference pattern. Hot spots in such networks give rise to non-uniform memory reference pattern and result in a degradation in performance. A comparison of performance between unbu...

Performance of Buuered Multistage Interconnection Networks in a Non Uniform Traac Environment 1

Multistage interconnection networks (MIN) are used to connect processors to memories in shared memory multiprocessor systems. They have also been proposed as switching fabrics in ATM switches in Broadband ISDN networks. A multistage network consists of several stages of switching elements (SE) connected by a permutation function. Since routing connicts among packets at the SEs cause blocking an...

Most of the Cayley graphs have been shown to have better properties than other well known interconnection networks. However, experimental and simulation studies have been co...

Performance Analysis of Finite-Buffered Asynchronous Multistage Interconnection Networks

In this paper, we present a queueing model for performance analysis of nite-buuered multistage interconnection networks. The proposed model captures network behavior in an asynchronous communication mode and is based on realistic assumptions. A uniform traac model is developed rst and then extended to capture non-uniform traac in the presence of hot-spot. Throughput and delay are computed using...

Performance Analysis of Finite Output-Buffered Multistage ATM Switching Fabrics

A new and accurate Markov chain model for evaluating the performance of multistage ATM switching fabrics with 22 nite output-buuered SEs is proposed. By comparing the results obtained from the proposed model, existing models, and simulations, it has been shown that the proposed model is much more accurate than existing models in the presence of a non-uniform traac in the switch. The results fro...
